Why do I, and so many others including my wife Margaret, consider being in a LifeGroup to be a high priority in our busy week?   At first glance they are not convenient.  It takes commitment and an investment of time and sometimes the hassle of travel.  It is so much easier to stay at home, or work longer, or go to the movies, or hang out and have a meal with friends.  But here are some of the reasons why I ‘want” to go every week: – the friends, the laughter, the Bible study, the prayer, the love and support, the normal people, the safe place, the honesty, the transformation in folk, including myself – in short the fellowship.  How my life would be so much poorer without these wonderful folk in my life.                                                                                                                                                                                                                         Being in a LifeGroup requires effort and commitment, it sometimes requires sacrifice and initially it can take time to make the connections. If it is our intention to become Christ-centred disciples,  then I firmly believe that it is vital for everyone to take seriously the commands in Hebrews 10:24-25, “Let us consider how we may spur one another on towards love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another…”.
The Life Groups are central and vital to both our maturity and the maturity of the whole church.

The purpose of this life group is to offer God’s transforming love to those who live in turmoil. Most of us have experienced life struggles or perhaps you are currently in the midst of a storm. This life group will help you overcome your struggles, your pain, your hurt, your fears. The life group runs over 10 weeks and we generally offer the program three times a year.

SearchLight is a group of women who meet on Thursday mornings.  Our aim is to become active disciples of Jesus, putting the searchlight on Him through teaching, prayer, repentance and accountability.  In turn, we aim to disciple others, putting the searchlight on other women so that they too can put the searchlight on Jesus. Value Added: Home baking.  Mmmmmmmm. Lots of laughs.

Firelight are a group of women who meet every Tuesday evening.  We can be calm, gentle, warm, and supportive, but carry within us an inner strength.  Like a fire needs air, we can’t exist without God and the fanning of the fire within us.  We also need regular refueling and some encouraging to maintain the inner fire.  Our group has committed to holding each other up in prayer and discussion, to support and hold one another accountable.  We are committed to being disciples to others, in our families, our church, our work place and our community.
Never let the fire in your heart go out.  Keep it alive.  Serve the Lord. When you hope, be joyful.  When you suffer, be patient.  When you pray, be faithful. Share with God’s people who are in need. Welcome others into your homes.   Romans 12:11-13 NIRV

The Bible, Psalm 119:105, says: “Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path
Our world, although beautiful by design, is full of false paths and temptations, that if followed will not lead one to God. Our group, through Bible study and shared views and experiences, lovingly expressed, attempts to add each of our small candles of light to build a solid beam of light to hopefully ” light the way.”
